PUMPDOMODIUM!!!!
Yesterday I watched the panic spread througout my workplace. The rumor was that gas was going up to 1.89 a litre. I overheard visitors in the hallways, support staff running out to the pumps to get gas at the latest price before it went up.
Pandomonium struck! I heard on my travels prices from 1.89-5.98 a litre. The word was from those who rushed out that it was a " dangerous place " out there. people were threatening each other in the lines at the pumps, slugging it out over a spot in line. traffic was backed up on the transcanada for miles.
Oh, how good to be inside the institution! It seems to put everything into perspective to watch someone struggling for life on life support. watching worried families who care nothing about the price of gas.
I wonder, what can we do about it anyway? We need gas regardless of the price. I am in no hurry to pay the rising price -it can wait until the next life:)
Sensless waste of energy and all for a rumor that started in ontario and spread East in a matter of minutes! Oh, the scariness of the modern media!!
It does make me wonder where we are headed to be so focused on our dependencies.
It is scary to be dependent on so many fellow humans who are not focused on each other but self and the price of gas. really people, us caregivers felt very alone while the rest of our tribe were "off to war" for hours over gas prices.
