The real truth about Bird flu,- listen up, folks

I was reading a posting tonight on:
  • "united online
  • It informs of a link to follow to prepare for the bird flu and how congregations can prepare to handle an epidemic. I have to comment on that in my blog tonight. It would take more expertise than a church hall can offer to handle a pandemic. The worst thing that could happen is that untrained people get gathered together to look after others with bird flu if you want to keep it contained. The person with the virus has to be isolated and the person looking after that person has to wear and be trained in isolation technique and don special masks and gear to do it. If a pandemic happened, there would not be a chance to offer a hall, basement or whatever. It would be completely taken over by Health Canada and handled as they are now preparing to do. If one wants to worship at home, it is a good idea but for awhile, it would be best to stand and take instructions from someone who knows. what to do. All we need are a bunch of people gathering to pray at a time like that. To gather for anything for that matter. It seems that wherever I look in this media-ruled world there is a scare tactic for something being offered each minute of the day. CNN have been blasting out reports of a hurricane 24/7, that is supposed to hit land this Sunday- for a week now. When do we get a chance to just live?? It seems that the media has people running every minute of their lives away from some danger. EX: terrorists, tidal waves, hurricanes, disease, now. can we just have a break? The people of U.S. have been running for months now and I think they deserve a break and they must be getting so tired of advancing and retreating in their SUV's and planes when not much happens, except to the poorest in the country. Let's just file bird flu in our minds as a possibility and I don't think we have to offer up church halls and clergy to save our souls yet.Sounds like yet another scare or something else for the already worried to worry about. Let's just handle what is going on now for a change. And if the time comes, I am hoping the clergy will do the same as others who need direction...listen to instructions. Please don't panic.
